Drawings were an important medium of major artists of the 1980s, including Jean-Michel Basquiat, George Condo, Keith Haring, Susan Rothenberg, Claes Oldenburg and others who are shown here. Co-curated by Nancy Hall-Duncan and Peter Brant, the exhibition was drawn from Brant’s extensive collection and this catalog includes his essay as well as an interview with iconic drawing expert Bernice Rose, who at the time of publication in 1995 was Director of Pace Drawings.
